DISCOVERING UKRAINIAN  EGGS - OR HOW TO MAKE
PYSANKY

Pysanky is an ancient ethnic art form.  The pysanky artist creates dyed eggs of many patterns and colors.  The process of making pysanky, or Ukrainian eggs, looks complicated, but it can be learned by almost anyone with a reasonably steady hand.  The materials are simple: a candle, some wax, and dyes of your choice, and, of course, eggs.  This one hour forty-five minute videotape is a step by step description of  making pysanky.  Everything from how to select the right egg, "blowing" the egg, and mixing dyes, to making designs, removing wax, and varnishing the finished product.  There are several minutes of  beautiful examples of decorated eggs, from tiny quail eggs to giant ostrich eggs.  The price of the videotape is $39.00, including shipping
